"It didn't seem like the right time to ask her to wrap her legs around my neck until I passed out, but it would have been nice." Down Time

I love this novel. Going bonkers, drinking too much, sending debauched texts, all the Things. And now there is a nurse, who is very bravely still doing her job in NY, and after long days of that it's just probably not the right time.

"busy taking me out"

That video text cracks me the fuck up. I mean, the baby trying to kill her is funny in itself, but it's the book on my daughter's lap that really makes it. Amazon summary: "But her greatest obstacle, and her only chance of making it through the University’s dangerous Unity Trials—is Draven Skyrend, heir to a powerful Wind Elemental family. Raised to see Voids like Zephira as inferior, Draven views her presence as a threat to everything his family has sworn to protect. Yet with every clash of wills, every shared trial, and every secret revealed, the lines between rivalry and forbidden love blur."

We are all read-fucking our way through the end of the world and swapping jokes in my little world.
