Flexner papers at the national archive. The father of modern medical education, all science. Except he didn't say that. I mean, he DID, the Flexner report was all about how physicians didn't know jackshit about science, and it reformed every med school in the United States. But he also said there needed to be a second report by the 1950s all about how doctors needed HUMANITIES. Every med school needed humanities faculty, hardcore humanities, Greek and Latin and literature and philosophy. Nobody cites that part of his thinking. We read his letters back and forth with Einstein. Science ain't gonna save humanity, yo.
