We need to focus on mental health my ass. Nobody cares about mental health until a mass shooting, like nobody gives a shit about women's sports unless they're "guarding it" against trans women. And so much for the logic of arming the good guys - the security guard at Tops shot the shooter, and that didn't stop the son of a bitch from reloading and shooting someone's mother again. And EVERYBODY is ARMED in fucking TEXAS, and yet the "good guys" stood around with their thumbs up their asses not fingers on any triggers. The unarmed CHILDREN were on their own.

= the truth of this country at this moment in history: We. Suck. Sheeple armed to the teeth with zero collective give-a-shit. And God save our children. Because we will not. Not from any of it, the bullets the racism the poverty the hopelessness. 

You can't save only your own kids, viruses don't work like that, bacteria doesn't work like that, and this rising tide of menace is in the air like COVID, in the water like cholera. You cannot breathe only your own personal air, that's not how Earth works. You think your little world will survive the failure of the human experiment entirely? Really? Anyone who believes that is displaying signs of mental illness. Our working our asses off to get enough toilet paper and ramen hoarded for our own kids is just how we are apologizing to them for royally fucking up ev er y thing. 

The older I get, the more I have to take solace from knowing that the planet will be fine. Without us, I mean. The planet will shake us off like fleas. We weren't meant to survive, we were made to implode like one of those small but heavy stars that goes kaboom out there in the galaxy and spews out some nano something thus contributing to Life in ways that my little mind can't fathom. 

Which is a shame bc there is only one species that does art. And we ain't shit sometimes.
